Hot, warm or cold: applications for every taste.
The LÄRCHENHOF is a place to live.
You should feel at home with us. Experience an honest vacation without the chic and chic, without entertainment programs that you absolutely have to try and where your relaxation falls by the wayside.
This also applies to the wellness area, which is why we have now extended our Thermarium in the old Roman style, but this time we have remained true to the traditional Alpine style and furnished the new area with local rustic wood.
The focus here is on cozy comfort. With a view of the magnificent mountain world around the Großglockner, which is certainly a uniquely great wellness treatment in its own right.
A balanced mixture of special qualities!
Being pampered from morning to bedtime
Sweat profusely or warm up gently. Cool down in the crisp mountain water. Let yourself be sprinkled by the tropical spray mist. Round off an active day in the Finnish sauna or simply relax. "How" is a question of temperament. What it does is beyond doubt: bathing at the Lärchenhof, in harmony with Heiligenblut's stimulating climate, is always a blessing - for body, mind and soul!
Our spacious Swiss stone pine sauna is the centerpiece of the NEW wellness area: after spending the whole day on the ski slopes in the Großglockner / Heiligenblut ski area, you deserve an extensive sauna session. The soothing scent of Swiss stone pine caresses your senses while your tired muscles recover from a strenuous day. You'll be ready to get going again tomorrow.
This "Finnish sauna", which has a temperature of around 90 °C in the solid Swiss stone pine chamber, is primarily used to harden the body against colds. The increase in body temperature to up to 39 °C during the sweating phase - artificial fever - has the same effect on the body as a real fever, namely an increase in the activity of immune cells.
The sequence of heat followed by a cold bath relaxes the muscles and, in addition to some physiological effects such as a short-term strong increase in blood pressure, stimulation of the circulation, metabolism, immune system and respiration, also has a beneficial effect on subjective well-being.
Sauna bathing is also good for skin care and slows down skin ageing. Immediately after entering the sauna room, the skin reacts, the blood vessels dilate, blood circulation increases and the surface temperature rises to 40-42 °C after about 15 minutes. The cooling phase, during which the blood vessels constrict again due to the cold water applications, is a real vascular workout.
The sweating and repeated water applications also have a very thorough but gentle cleansing effect on the body. The uppermost horny layer of the skin swells, keratinized skin cells loosen and can be easily rinsed off. In the case of very dry skin, the structure is improved by activating the sweat glands and water retention in the horny layer.
The Finnish sauna is particularly beneficial after an active day in the fresh air. People with inflammation, acute infectious diseases, cardiovascular diseases, venous thrombosis or varicose veins are generally advised not to visit a sauna, Hammām, banya or steam bath. If necessary, older people should consult their family doctor.
If you don't like it quite so hot and "sweaty" infusions are not on your list, then our organic and alpine herbal sauna is the right place for you. At lower temperatures of 50 - 60° and humidity levels of up to 45%, your airways will be happy and your skin will be soft and supple. Here, too, there are special infusions with camomile, eucalyptus, mint or lavender, whereby the essential oils have a beneficial effect and the metabolism is positively stimulated.
Mild radiant heat is combined with steam in the caldarium. 42° C is ideal for the care of skin, hair and respiratory organs. The temperature, steam and revitalizing aromatic eucalyptus oil support detoxification and serve as a treatment for your lungs, especially if you are exposed to smoke. Length of stay approx. 20 minutes. The caldarium can also be used as a preparation room for a hotter Finnish sauna.
The laconium was invented by the ancient Greeks. The Romans incorporated it into their thermal baths. In the dry sweating room, the even radiant heat emanates from the stone walls and floors, the seating and lying surfaces. The temperature is around 65° C. The body sweats slowly but intensively. A sweat session in the laconium is a recommended alternative for anyone who finds it simply too hot in a traditional sauna at temperatures of around 90°C and above. The humidity is around 15-20%.
In the infrared cabin, the body is not warmed by hot room air, but by infrared radiation. The advantage of the effect on the body can be explained by the special rays that penetrate deep into the skin and generate deep heat there. This stimulates the tissue to initiate self-healing processes. The heat also relieves tension. The infrared effect is particularly good for general physical exhaustion or large areas of tension. The application is particularly beneficial for these conditions:
After a sauna session followed by an ice-cold shower, there is hardly anything better than lying down on a heated lounger that has been adapted to your body in order to relax. You don't necessarily have to be a Kneipp fan to enjoy the soothing warmth that penetrates the back of the body. The mild radiant heat offers relaxation in any case. It relieves muscle cramps and has a harmonizing effect on body and mind.
...so you're done with the infusion and sweating? Then now is the time to really relax. Your personal bathrobe is already waiting for you. Snuggle up in it and take a seat on one of the five Siesta Nature wellness loungers or relax in one of our three floating loungers. Is your back aching from stressful everyday life or constant strain? Then take a seat on one of our infrared loungers and let the warmth have a soothing effect.
Water is not just for washing. Our water snail invigorates, refreshes and nourishes. First you pinch yourself, then cool off in the cool spray mist to really enjoy the warm tropical rain afterwards, finishing off with a full body water massage.
Relax, unwind and enjoy the view. Just what you want after a sauna session or a hearty infusion. In our panorama relaxation room you can relax particularly well, snuggle up in your bathrobe, enjoy the warmth and your gaze falls on the highest mountain peaks in the country - a vacation can be so beautiful!
Swiss stone pine is one of the finest woods in the Alps, just good enough to be used in our new Swiss stone pine panorama relaxation room. The air-purifying effect, the antibacterial surface and the calming effect on body and mind are the properties that you will particularly love about our Swiss stone pine relaxation room. We do!
